Kirk Fry

Originally from Wheeling, West Virginia, I have been living in Winston-Salem, NC since 1989. Since I was a young boy, creating art and music have been a passion.

Professionally, I work as a graphic designer and art director. Personally, I am always working to hone my skills in drawing, painting, carving, and woodworking. Along the way I have met many talented woodcrafters who were generous in their mentoring, enabling my skills for this art form to grow. 

Simply put, creating art that combines my love for music and string instruments… gave birth to the concept of Sawdust Guitars! From the design stage through completion, as a craftsman I ensure that each custom-made guitar is uniquely themed, aesthetically stunning, acoustically sound and built to last.

This art form brings me great pleasure and satisfaction. I love the challenge of making each Sawdust Guitar…. watching it come to life and the pure joy of hearing it sing!
